First real entry
I noticed that there have been 40 page views of my blog since I started it in February. Since I've posted nothing on it, at least some are based on the comments I've sent to other columns (Weight of the Evidence, La Vida Low Carb, etc.). In my defense, I am better at response than creation. However I will try to post more often. Right now I'm interested in Regina Wilshire's November 17, 2006 Weight of the Evidence column where she cites a study that show that HbA1c percentage is directly correlated with mortality. Hemaglobin A1c is the measure of the percentage of red blood cells that are "damaged" by glycation in our blood. While the study's authors are primarily concerned with heart disease and related circulatory diseases, they only account for approximately 50% of the deaths. I'm curious about the other causes (Cancer maybe?)
